Overview

Let us solve your problem!

The Economics, Discrete Optimization, and Mathematics (EDOM) group is one of the leading providers of cutting edge optimization solutions. With an experience of more than 15 years in the execution of large scale industry projects together with a combined experience of more than 80 years in solving large scale optimization problems in an industrial context, the EDOM group’s value proposition is unique: Our key expertise lies in development of mathematical models for real-world problems, their theoretical analysis, and the design and implementation of fast algorithms as well as their evaluation in practice.

This involves techniques like mixed-integer linear and non-linear programming, as well as robust, multilevel and combinatorial optimization. With a proven track record of more than 30 successfully completed industry projects and long-term partnerships with large single-names we were able to develop strategies and structures that ensure practicability and timely execution of projects. Moreover, we were able to setup sector specific competency groups with experiences in

  • Energy
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Optimization in Physics
  • Finance and Banking
  • Engineering
  • Airlines
  • Urban shaping
  • Facility management

Current projects include coordination of the Cooperative Research Centre TRR 154 „Mathematical Modelling, Simulation and Optimization using the Example of Gas Networks“ as well as research within the Energy Campus Nuremberg EnCN, see projects or thesis for the full scope of our work.
