Duties and Responsibilities of the Mathematics Examinations Committee
The duties and responsibilities of the Mathematics Examinations Committee are regulated in the General Degree Program and Examination Regulations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs at the Faculty of Sciences, in particular in Paragraph 9. Some information and references to the Mathematics Examinations Committee can also be found the Degree program and examination regulations of the different Mathematics degrees.
The Examinations Committee is responsible for the planning and organisation of examinations and their compliance with the degree program and examination regulations, but not with their concrete implementation or assessment. It monitors compliance with the degree program and examination regulations, reviews the legality of delegated decisions and the assessment of examinations upon request.
In practice, students mainly interact with the Mathematics Examination Committee in the following situations:
- Applications for recognition of skills
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Applications for an extension of the study period or extension of the GOP deadline
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Applications for annulment of examinations
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Deficiencies in examination Procedures
(examinations by lecturers in the Department of Mathematics) - Compensation for disadvantages during examinations
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Approval of external Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, return of the topic of the Master’s thesis
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Assignment of Bachelor’s or Master’s theses if students do not succeed in obtaining a topic despite persistent efforts (students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM)
- Application for extension of deadlines for Bachelor’s or Master’s theses
(students of Mathematics, Economics and Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, CAM) - Inability to take examinations or withdrawal outside the deadline
