Applications for extensions

Avoiding such Applications

When applying for an extension of the period of study or an extension of the GOP deadline, the legal hurdles for approval are very high. Please refer to paragraphs 8 and 11 of the  General Degree Program and Examination Regulations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs at the Faculty of Sciences. You should address problems and difficulties in your studies directly and proactively to avoid the need for such an application, see our Advice for Students.

Advice before submitting an application

If you need to apply for an extension of the study period or an extension of the GOP deadline in a Bachelor’s degree programme, please visit – during their respective office hours – first the Student Service Centre (SSC) and then the Chair of the Mathematics Examinations Committee. If you need to apply for an extension of the study period in a Master’s degree programme, your first point of contact is always your mentor, then the Student Service Centre (SSC) and then the Mathematics Examinations Committee.
