The three main research interests are Analysis, Modeling and Numerics, Representation Theory and Operator Algebras as well as Optimization.
In 2021, the Department of Data Science was spun off from the Department of Mathematics. Together, the two departments offer a joint range of study programmes.
The study programmes include the bachelor programmes Data Science, Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Technomathematics, the master programmes Data Science, Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Computational and Applied Mathematics as well as education of mathematics for teaching at Realschule and Gymnasium.
