Dear all,

we want to cordially invite you to a talk in the colloquium of Applied
Mathematics this*Thursday, May 19th, at 4:00 p.m. in H13.*

For those who cannot join in person, there is also a broadcast in Zoom:

We host two guests of Math2Market GmbH. The company was founded in 2011
as a spin-off at Fraunhofer ITWM in Kaiserslautern.

Today, the company employs 46 people at the Kaiserslautern headquarters
and is a global leader in the development of digital solutions for
materials research and development.

Dr. Erik Glatt and Dr. Arne Jacob (Math2Market, Kaiserslautern):

Introduction to GeoDict: Applications for Digital Rock Physics

In this presentation we shortly introduce the scientific software
GeoDict “The Digital Material Laboratory”.GeoDict lets you elegantly
analyze and design the microstructure of porous media, composite
materials, foams, and the like. It works directly on 3Dscans with high
performance of its direct numerical solvers and its geometric material
models. Some application examples are shown to demonstrate the concept of
“digital material analysis and design” with GeoDict. In the second part
of the presentation,we focus onDigitalRock Physicsapplications. Digital
Rock Physics and Digital Core Analysis summarize the analysis and
determination of the most relevant rock parameters obtained by a variety
of imaging techniques. GeoDictprovides all the tools neededto analyze
parameters requiredfor estimating the potential of reservoirs without
conducting cost-and time-consumingexperiments. Usually, a distinction is
made between Routine Core Analysis and Special Core Analysis
(SCAL). Both workflows can be performed digitally with GeoDict. The topic
ofCO2 sequestrationis also of great interest, and we show how this
question can be studied viadifferent approaches includingreactive flow
simulationsinGeoDict.
