Introducing inverse hamiltonian reduction

Christopher Raymond (Hamburg)

Abstract: Inverse hamiltonian reduction is a new technique for studying the representation theory of vertex operator algebras (VOAs). In particular, it provides an explicit method for constructing simple objects of nonsemisimple nonfinite tensor categories relevant to the study of 2d conformal and 3d topological field theories. I want to give an introduction to the ideas at play. No prior knowledge of VOAs is required, and I will lean heavily on explicit examples coming from the representation theory of (sometimes affine) sl2 and sl3.
