Degenerate Kustin-Miller unprojection and volume normalization
Stavros Papadakis (Ioannina)
Abstract: Unprojection theory is a general theory, introduced by Miles Reid, which aims to construct and/or analyze complicated commutative rings in terms of simpler one. Motivated by questions related to simplicial spheres and lattice polytopes, we will discuss the degenerate Kustin-Miller unprojection. In addition, we will present an application to the volume normalization of the generic Artinian reduction of a standard graded commutative Gorenstein algebra. The talk is based on joint work with Karim Adiprasito and Vasiliki Petrotou.
