Geometric Foundations of Physics in the Context of AQFT – Vortragender: Bharath Ron, Universität Wien – Einladender: Karl-Hermann Neeb

Abstract: Geometry has been a good model for the description of the world. We discuss the (usually assumed) postulates which lie at the core of geometric foundations of classical physics, such as the need for manifolds, etc. We then attempt to generalise and reformulate these postulates so that they can be applied in the context of algebraic quantum theory. We will then discuss some possible paths to developing the mathematics needed to implement them.
