  • 13:45 Retrospective, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Karl-Heinz Hoffmann, Former President of the Bavarian Academy of Science, TUM, PhD Advisor of Prof. Knabner

In the sequel we are happy to announce some interesting public presentations of former members of the chairs of Applied Mathematics who will share their experiences. The event is entitled

Math meets Reality

Alumni – now holding positions in industy and economics – will report from their professional life.

This part is of course also open to everyone interested – in particular students of mathematics or other directions – who are interested in gaining an impression of working life and its expectations.

In the evening there will be the occasion for a joint diner at 18h30, location Fischerei Oberle,

Am Deckersweiher 24, 91056 Erlangen, Kosbach . We organise transportation for those who need a lift, lists will be on display from 15 – 16 in Übungsraum 4!

 

Please send an email to sekretariat.am1@math.fau.de, if you want to participate at the Alumni meeting and/or the diner, so we can have a good estimate for the size of the coffee pot in the break….

This event is part of the special week celebrating 50 years of Applied Mathematics at FAU (Program) from 2.-4.3. and the international Workshop on Recent Developments in Modelling, Analysis and Simulation of Processes in Porous Media at March 5th and 6th 2020.
