Prof. Dr. Alexander Martin appointed to Fraunhofer Institute management
Prof. Dr. Alexander Martin has been appointed member of the institute management at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS. He will continue to hold the Chair of Economics, Discrete Optimization and Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics.
At Fraunhofer IIS, Prof. Martin is currently building the “ADA Center”. “ADA” stands for “Analytics, Data, Applications”, for the collection and analysis of especially large amounts of data in order to improve existing processes and business models or develop new ones. The center works here with methods of artificial intelligence, machine learning and mathematical optimization. In addition to the technical management of the ADA Center, Prof. Martin will be responsible in particular for the Nuremberg location and the research areas Localization and Networking and Supply Chain Services located there.
